Bond has been set at $1 million for a man charged with murder in the death of a man who was reported missing on Saturday.

At his arraignment Wednesday, Toledo Municipal Court Judge Timothy Kuhlman set Martel Huggins’ bond at $1 million.

Huggins, 33, of the 3100 block of Mulberry Street, was arrested Tuesday by police who were investigating the disappearance of Malicai Calder, 27. Mr. Calder was reported missing at 10:04 p.m. Saturday from an apartment complex in the 1400 block of Secor Road.

According to court records, when police stopped Huggins in Mr. Calder’s work vehicle on Wednesday, they found parts of Mr. Calder’s body in the vehicle.

“There were gunshot and stab wounds to the victim’s head,” according to court records. Huggins was also charged with felonious assault.
