EVANSVILLE – A juvenile is dead and two others were injured after a shooting on Evansville's South Side early Wednesday morning.
In a text message to the Courier & Press, Evansville police spokesman Sgt. Anthony Aussieker said the person fatally shot was younger than 18. The other two injured in the shooting were adults, and have been hospitalized. Police haven't disclosed the extent of their injuries.
According to a news release from Aussieker, crews were dispatched to a home in the 1700 block of Marshall Avenue around 5:30 a.m. after 911 callers reported hearing gunshots in the area.
"Officers arrived and found three people who had been shot," the release states. "All three were transported to area hospitals, however one victim did not survive their injuries."
