COLUMBUS, Ohio (WOIO) - The Ohio Supreme Court has ruled against NBA player Christian Wood in a child support case stemming from Lorain County.
In a unanimous decision announced Wednesday, the state’s top court found Wood must pay $25,000 a month in child support after missing an objection deadline.
According to court records, Wood had a child in January 2021 with an Elyria woman he met on social media.
He was playing for the Dallas Mavericks at that time and most recently the Los Angeles Lakers.
In July 2021, records state Wood and the woman went to Lorain County court over child support and visitation, resulting in an interim child support order for $5,000.
