OMAHA — Navy veteran Kishla Askins received an endorsement of her 2026 bid for the Democratic nomination in Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District from a left-leaning organization that supports veterans who run for office.
VoteVets, which endorsed Askins, is considered a major player in some Democratic primary races. Recently two candidates backed by the organization won their gubernatorial race, former Navy helicopter pilot Rep. Mikie Sherrill in New Jersey and former CIA officer Rep. Abigail Spanberger in Virginia.
Travis Tazelaar, VoteVets Political Director, said, “Veterans remain the best-positioned candidates to make crucial flips.”
