The Mt. Shasta Nordic Center unveiled a new guest services lodge at its ski area, located 1 mile below Mt. Shasta Ski Park of Interstate 5.
The lodge, which replaces the center's yurt and portable bathrooms, is part of a five-year upgrade plan, according to a community announcement issued by the Siskiyou Outdoor Recreation Alliance. The new building features a modern, off-grid design with a durable, industrial exterior and a warm Danish-inspired interior.
The lodge currently offers drinks and snacks, with plans to expand food options in the future. Visitors can purchase a warm beverage and a light packaged bite inside the lodge or bring their own picnic basket.
