WYOMING, Mich. — After three decades in law enforcement, Wyoming Public Safety Chief Kimberly Koster will be retiring in January.
Koster announced the decision Wednesday.
She began her career with the City of Wyoming as a school resource and community policing officer. She then worked her way up and served as detective, sergeant, lieutenant and captain.
Over the years, Koster held positions ranging from 911 operator to crisis negotiator and the lead detective on homicide investigations.
She has served as chief since April 25, 2018, overseeing 167 full-time sworn and civilian personnel from both the police and fire departments.
