(Gray News) – A woman with family ties to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is in ICE custody, according to a report from CNN .

Bruna Caroline Ferreira was arrested near Boston on Nov. 12, her attorney confirmed.

Ferreira is from Brazil and is the mother of Leavitt’s 11-year-old nephew.

According to WMUR , Leavitt’s nephew has lived full time in New Hampshire with his father, Leavitt’s brother, since he was born.

Ferreira and Leavitt have not spoken in many years, WMUR reported.

Ferreira was arrested while driving to pick up her son from New Hampshire, her lawyer told CNN. She shares joint custody of the child.

Ferreira’s lawyer said she was a former DACA recipient after being brought to the U.S. as a child in December 1998.
