STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Authorities in New Jersey are investigating the deaths of a Staten Island woman and a Brooklyn man, whose bodies were discovered Sunday in an Atlantic City hotel room.

The woman was identified as 36-year-old Baoyi Bowie Zheng, and the man was identified as 68-year-old Wei Guo Liang, according to a press release issued Wednesday by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Police were called to the hotel room at the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa just before 5 p.m., officials said. Autopsies determined that Zheng died from a broken neck and Liang died from self-inflicted stab wounds.

Authorities didn’t describe the relationship between the two individuals.

The woman’s community was not immediately available.
