Cheap portable speakers can sound good enough. Pricey hardware can make you feel cheated. The trick, in my opinion, is to find something that's at the top of the range, with middle-of-the-road or better pricing. The Bose SoundLink Plus has absolutely nailed this. While $270 isn't chump change. I've messed with hardware that costs twice as much but doesn't sound nearly half as satisfying.
What's Great
The SoundLink Plus gives good music. Over a few weeks, I listened to a broad spectrum of music on both an Android handset and my iPhone. I played everything from Rage Against the Machine and The Headstones to Lustmord and The Martin Hayes Quartet. I never once found myself disappointed. Given that this is a mono-sound speaker, I was surprised by the fidelity and soundstage that it offers. Hi
