COMSTOCK PARK, MI - A spectacular light show is returning to the LMCU Ballpark, just off U.S. 131, this week.

Twenty-eight years ago, veteran Bill Schrader launched the annual Christmas Lite Show. Since then, it’s grown to bring in 50,000 visitors each year.

Today, the event is a family business, known as the largest light show display in West Michigan.

Schrader has had one goal: to bring a smile to the kids.

“It’s all about the kids,” he stated.

The Christmas Lite Show’s team, consisting mostly of veterans, has grown to over 30 members who now manage generators, gas cans, mile-long extension cords to transformers, power boxes and eight trailers full of lights.

However, last year, the event was delayed. Just before opening day, a vandal cut electrical cords to thousands of lights.
