KILLEEN, Texas — Police are investigating the death of a 22-year-old woman who was killed early Wednesday after shots were fired into a Killeen home, hitting two people inside.

Killeen police said officers were called around 2:02 a.m. to the 1900 block of Monte Carlo Lane, where they found two gunshot victims inside a home. A 22-year-old woman, identified as Tai’Lynn Akaya Wright, was found unconscious. A 26-year-old man was also located with gunshot wounds but was conscious.

Killeen Fire Department medics provided emergency care to both victims. The man was taken to Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple with injuries that were not life-threatening. He has since been treated and released, police said.
