MONTICELLO — Montipalooza, the music festival that first brought national acts like Percy Sledge, Georgia Satellites, and the North Mississippi All-Stars to the small town of Monticello, is back for the first time in more than two decades.

The festival will take place Friday and Saturday, Dec. 5-6, at the Atwood Water Park, promising a mix of blues, rock, and regional talent that made its early reputation so memorable.

Monticello Police Chief Sterling Allen attended the first Montipalooza and said he and his officers are ready for the festivities.
