A type of Boar's Head cheese has been recalled for possible contamination with listeria, a bacteria that can cause foodborne illness. The recall includes the cheese, grated Pecorino Romano, as well as another product from the same supplier and two Caesar salad items, according to the recall notice posted on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration website.

The affected cheese came from Ambriola Company, a Boar's Head supplier, which voluntarily recalled some cheese products due to the potential presence of listeria. Out of an abundance of caution, Boar's Head decided to withdraw all items from this supplier, the company said in a statement , including another Pecorino Romano item.
