Co-chairs of a Sarnia committee advocating for a community centre and library hub in Bright’s Grove are among those pledging project funds.
“If you’re going to go and raise money for a project, we agree that it’s very important that you show that you’re going to back it yourself,” said Mark Moran.
He and his family are contributing $15,000 over three years toward the estimated $5.9-million expansion to Faethorne House in Bright’s Grove.
Co-chair Kirsten Kilner Holmes and her family are doing the same.
The announcement, made at council budget deliberations Tuesday, signals a looming three-year fundraising campaign for the project, Moran said.
“More of a signal, quite frankly, to the community that they can donate over three years,” he said.
