A 45-year-old suspect is in custody after police caught him red-handed during a burglary in progress at a Maryland business, officials say.

An officer on routine patrol in Jessup was surprised when he was making his rounds and found broken glass outside 3D Nails & Day Spa in the 8600 block of Washington Boulevard, according to the Howard County Police Department.

As he approached the business, the officer found Leslie Elmore inside, still rummaging through the register and going for cash when the officer instructed the burglar to "show me your hands," and ordered to the ground..

The whole ordeal was caught on camera and body-cam footage was released to the public on Wednesday, Nov. 26.
