The Thanksgiving holiday is here and while that will mean a number of closures across the Chicago area, not everything will shut down.

Here's a look at what will and won't be open for this week's holiday and the day after.

Are banks open on Thanksgiving?

The majority of banks will be closed for the day as Thanksgiving Day is a Federal Reserve holiday . Many will reopen for Black Friday, however.

Stock market

The stock market will be closed for Thanksgiving Day and will also close early on Black Friday.

The New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ report each market will close at 12 p.m. CT on Nov. 28, though some late trading sessions will close at 4 p.m. CT.
