I stand firmly opposed to this austerity budget, which threatens to eliminate 40,000 public-sector jobs while funnelling billions into military spending.
This right-wing conservative agenda not only undermines our public services, but also inflicts severe cuts to immigration policies, unjustly scapegoating international students in the process.
Under this budget, the 2025-26 plan promises a shocking reduction in admission targets, slashing the quota for new temporary resident admissions from 673,650 in 2025 to just 385,000 in 2026.
I would have vehemently opposed Carney’s budget.
