JACKSON — As Thanksgiving approaches, one church in Jackson is opening its doors to volunteers and to anyone in need of a warm holiday meal.
Each year on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas, Southside Baptist Church hosts a community dinner — serving a home-cooked meal with the help of volunteers from across the Greater Jackson area. Officials say the church provides food, fellowship, and a welcoming atmosphere, especially for people who might otherwise be alone.
Church members go out into the community and round up the homeless, insuring that even those with no table of their own will be able to enjoy the festivities and fellowship of the holiday.
Volunteers are being invited now to help with meal preparations, serving, or clean-up. Organizers say volunteers would be doing a great service i
