One man died and another was seriously injured Sunday evening in a single vehicle crash one mile east of Claire City, South Dakota, in Roberts County, according to the South Dakota Highway Patrol.

Preliminary crash information indicates the 27-year-old male driver of a 1992 GMC Sierra was traveling eastbound on 105 th Street near 456 th Avenue and lost control of the vehicle, entered the ditch and rolled, the release stated. The incident occurred at around 10:48 p.m., Nov. 23.

The driver, who is from Lidgerwood, North Dakota, sustained fatal injuries. The passenger, a 28-year-old male from Claire City, received serious, non-life-threatening injuries, the report stated.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.
