NEWBURGH, Ind. (WFIE) - A holiday display in Newburgh is sticking around a bit longer than anticipated.
Recently, the town voted to remove the holiday light display from Veterans Monument Park.
Now, officials say it is staying up through Christmas and will be taken down early next year.
Town leaders say agreements for use of the area were never formalized in written form.
They say the Town Council will work with the American Legion Kapperman Post #44 to formalize the path forward in early 2026 for all uses, including holiday light displays.
