The Jefferson County Coroner identified the second person killed while standing outside their vehicle on an interstate in Jefferson County.

Donnene Walker-Vean, 29, of Houston, Texas, was struck on Interstate 65 in Kimberly just after noon Tuesday.

Walker-Vean was standing on the roadway when another vehicle struck her vehicle. Walker-Vean was injured and transported to UAB Hospital, where she later died.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) is investigating.

On Saturday, Jagger Thorne Cox, 18, of Ragland, was also killed while standing outside his vehicle on Interstate 20.

The Birmingham Police Department responded and Cox was pronounced dead on the scene.
