The White House is in lockdown after two members of the National Guard have been shot in Washington DC, according to reports.
Police in the city have confirmed one suspect is in custody.
A spokesperson said: "Critical Incident: MPD is on the scene of a shooting at 17th and I Street, NWA. Please avoid the area. Updates to come.

The next update came just a few minutes later, which stated: "The scene is secured. One suspect is in custody."
Kristi Noem, US Homeland Security Secretary said: "Please join me in praying for the two National Guardsmen who were just shot moments ago in Washington D.C.
"The Department for Homeland Security is working with local law enforcement to gather more information."
