GRAND FORKS — Grand Forks Red River has announced new leadership for its girls soccer program.
Brian Gutierrez, currently an assistant coach for the boys soccer team and the Roughriders' strength coach, is taking over as head coach for the girls team.
"Brian is a huge asset to our school and athletic family, and we are excited about this new opportunity for him," Red River athletic director Tyler Nelson said in a release. "His wealth of knowledge on the sport, his ability to connect with athletes and his passion for success made him the perfect fit for our program."
Gutierrez is already well connected with the Grand Forks soccer community. He is the owner of CrossFit Tundra and runs the Grand Forks Sports Academy, which offers indoor training for local youth soccer players.
