TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - A man has been charged after allegedly hitting a disabled vehicle in Tucson on Friday, Nov. 14.
On Wednesday, Nov. 26, the Tucson Police Department said 72-year-old Pedro Samaniego Alvarez was arrested on charges of manslaughter and endangerment.
The TPD previously said Alvarez was likely impaired and speeding when he hit a vehicle near Speedway and Main.
35-year-old Adrian Avalos was killed in the accident, and four other people, including Alvarez, were injured.
According to the TPD, Avalos’ vehicle broke down, and two of his friends and a good Samaritan began pushing it.
The TPD said that was when Alvarez hit Avalos, pushing Avalos’ vehicle into the three people pushing it.
