ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - Charges have been upgraded for a man arrested in an Orangeburg County shooting that has turned deadly.

The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office said 18-year-old Jaden Mehki Ferguson is now charged with murder and criminal conspiracy. He was arrested on Nov. 21.

The sheriff’s office said Ferguson was part of a reported drive-by shooting on Nov. 17 with four other people on Mingo Street.

Warrants state Ferguson and the others drove by the victim’s home and fired multiple shots as they passed by, one of which struck the victim in the face.

The sheriff’s office said the victim, 21-year-old Kyree Walker, was found by witnesses outside. He later died after being taken to a hospital.
