LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Several images show areas affected by early morning flooding Wednesday, Nov. 26.
The intersection of Ejido Avenue and Potomac Street was underwater Wednesday morning, and Laredo police were at the scene guiding traffic away to keep drivers from getting stuck. Officials with the Laredo Fire Department told KGNS the Rio Grande rose about three inches.
The National Weather Service said water levels increased from 1.5 feet to almost 4 feet before dropping to nearly 3 feet as currents began to slow. Officials are asking drivers to use caution across the city and to turn around if they encounter flooded roadways.
