Edinburgh's crime rate has been revealed after figures were released by the Scottish Government. Split by area, both the capital and West Lothian came within the top 10.

On Tuesday, November 25, the Recorded Crime in Scotland report for the year ending September 2025 was published. It details the crimes and offences recorded by police in Scotland, reports the Daily Record .

The report reveals Police Scotland recorded 305,925 crimes in the year. This is a two per cent rise from the 300,136 crimes recorded in the year ending September 2024, and three per cent higher than the 297,712 crimes recorded in the year ending September 2021.
