MISSISSAUGA – The province’s police watchdog has discontinued an investigation into self-inflicted stabbing wounds suffered by a 40-year-old Lucan Biddulph woman in the summer.
According to the province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU), the woman was experiencing a mental health crisis on Aug. 20 when she inflicted a stab wound to her abdomen, after which she contacted emergency services for help.

When the first OPP officer arrived to the woman’s residence in Lucan Biddulph, he found her standing outside holding a knife. The officer attempted to interact with the woman, but she fled the area to a nearby cornfield.
After she was located, she was taken to an area hospital where she underwent surgery for deep stab wounds.
