The Honolulu Police Department is asking the public for help finding a man who tried to lure a Kapolei girl into an SUV on a bike path in Kapolei.

On Tuesday, at about 3 p.m., a 13-year-old girl was walking home from middle school in Kapolei when an “unknown male driving a gray SUV pulled alongside her and entered the bicycle path,” according to HPD.

“The male made hand gestures, attempting to get her attention and possibly lure her toward the vehicle,” police said.

The suspect is described as a man, possibly in his 40s, of heavy build, with tan skin.

“The investigation is ongoing,” said police.
