A shark advisory has been issued for Kailua Beach Park after a sighting this morning, according to Ocean Safety officials.
An alert was sent out via HNL.Alert at about 11:30 a.m. today after lifeguards observed an aggressive shark about 20 yards offshore.
Warning signs have been posted to alert beachgoers.
“If you see or encounter a shark, notify Ocean Safety personnel or call 911 immediately,” said officials. “Always check with a lifeguard for the latest ocean and beach conditions.”
Shark warning signs were also posted at Kahe Beach Park in leeward Oahu Tuesday after the sighting of a non-aggressive, 1o- to 15-foot tiger shark about 100 yards offshore.
