MILFORD, Iowa ( KUOO ) - A South Dakota man has been cited for crashing a vehicle into an electrical transformer on Monday, Nov. 24, in Milford, Iowa.
Police were called to Q Avenue and County Road A-34 around 5:15 p.m. and found the vehicle had left with debris scattered all around.
The crash knocked out power on the east side of Highway 71 from County Road A-34 north. Crews with Milford Municipal Utilities worked through the night to replace the transformer, with power being fully restored to the affected area late Tuesday morning.
The vehicle wanted in the incident was spotted a short time later in the 2300 block of Okoboji Avenue. The driver was also located and identified as Michael Koch of Wentworth, South Dakota. Koch was cited for failure to maintain control.
