CHESAPEAKE, Va. — A Suffolk man has been charged after a highway shooting on Tuesday, according to the Virginia State Police.
James G. Dietz, 59, has been charged with shooting from an occupied vehicle, shooting at an occupied vehicle, and reckless handling of a firearm, according to Virginia State Police. Agents from the Bureau of Criminal Investigation Chesapeake Field Office arrested Dietz Wednesday.
The shooting happened about 6:20 p.m. Tuesday, police said. It was on Route 58 eastbound at the onramp to Interstate 664 southbound in Chesapeake.
The suspect and victim were not known to each other, police said. The shooting followed an aggressive driving incident involving the two vehicles.
The victim did not suffer any injuries, and the victim’s vehicle was not damaged.
