GAINESVILLE, Ga. — In a major development in the drawn out fight between Gainesville High School against the Georgia High School Association, a judge ruled in favor of Gainesville on Wednesday, allowing all suspensions against its players lifted.
Gainesville High School filed suit Wednesday against the GHSA as they sought to have 31 remaining suspensions against players over a fight last Friday night lifted before their next playoff game against Langston Hughes.
The GHSA on Tuesday reinstated only four of the 39 players who were originally suspended from playing in Friday night's playoff game.
Gainesville was not contesting four of the suspensions, acknowledging that those players threw punches or otherwise directly got involved in the brawl. That left 31 players that Gainesville o
