EDGAR, Wis. (WSAW) - A former Wisconsin State Trooper has pleaded not guilty to 10 counts of possessing child sex abuse material (CSAM).
Michael Klingenberg, 62, of Edgar, pled not guilty to the charges on Nov. 19. He is also facing separate misdemeanor charges of 4th degree sexual assault and disorderly conduct. He also pleaded not guilty to those charges.
The judge found probable cause for the case to go to trial and set a pre-trial conference date for Jan. 23, 2026.
In August, a $75,000 cash bond was set, which Klingenberg later posted. His bond conditions include no access to electronic devices and the internet.
According to the criminal complaint, an online tip was sent to investigators on March 24 reporting a person, later identified as Klingenberg, had a file containing CSAM.
