ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. — Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell announced that a man has been charged after allegedly threatening an 11-year-old child who had simply asked for something to eat.
“It reminds me of the verse in Matthew that asks if your son asks for bread, who would give him a stone?” Ravenell said. “This boy didn’t even get a stone.”
According to the Sheriff’s Office, 44-year-old Thomas Baker has been charged with unlawful conduct toward a child following the incident.
Deputies responded Saturday to a residence on Beason Road after they said a man at the home requested that a juvenile be removed from the property. The man reportedly told deputies the child was being “unruly.”
