MASSENA, New York (WWNY) - State police say a man who went to a Town of Louisville home on County Route 43 to meet a woman was assaulted with a hammer, robbed, forced into his vehicle’s back seat and had his life threatened. Eventually, he was let go by 2 men at an unknown location, and his vehicle was set on fire, according to police.

NYSP says it was that vehicle fire that started its investigation early Monday morning just before 1am. The 2008 Chrysler Sebring was found on fire on State Route 131. Once the Louisville Fire Department put the fire out, troopers learned who owned it.
