MORRISBURG — Now celebrating its silver anniversary, the Alight At Night Festival at Upper Canada Village has become an event that many people have integrated into their annual holiday traditions.
The idea for the event, which reached its 750,000-guest milestone in 2023, came to Upper Canada Village’s manager Tracey Ogilby and her team when she started working at the 1860s heritage village in 2001, then in the role of manager of retail, admissions, and special events.

“I just thought, it was a beautiful place and that (Alight At Night) would work,” she said. “I was just wondering, why aren’t we doing something in the off-season? We’re open May to September, but what else can we do?”
