If you don't want this to be your "Last Christmas," a new study suggests that you might want to be careful when listening to some holiday hits while driving.

Bader Law released a list of the most distracting Christmas songs for drivers. The injury attorneys reviewed Spotify's top holiday tracks and found that several high-tempo hits aren't ideal for driving.

According to Spotify's research, songs between 50 and 80 beats per minute (BPM) help people stay focused. Music at that slower tempo can create an "alpha state" of mind, which boosts productivity and concentration.

Bader Law compared that benchmark to 200 of Spotify's biggest Christmas songs and ranked them by their BPM.

"When we’re driving home for Christmas with our favorite festive songs on, it can be easy to become distracted, which ultimately, can be deadly," said Seth Bader, who founded the law firm. "Keeping in mind, during the holiday season, the nights are darker, there can be an increase of drunk driving from those dangerously enjoying the festivities, so drivers have to be hyper-vigilant during these times, more so than ever. That's why this study highlights the songs to avoid putting on your playlist that can add even more risk to driving."

Ariana Grande's cover of "Last Christmas" by Wham! is the most distracting song for drivers, clocking in at 205.95 BPM. The "Wicked: For Good" star's other holiday hit, "Santa Tell Me," also made the list at No. 7 with 191.90 BPM.

Here's the top 10 most distracting Christmas songs, according to Bader Law:

  1. “Last Christmas” by Ariana Grande — 205.95 BPM
  2. "The Happiest Christmas Tree" by Nat King Cole — 205.88 BPM
  3. "Merry Christmas Everyone" by Shakin' Stevens — 202.90 BPM
  4. "Mele Kalikimaka (Merry Christmas)" by Bing Crosby & The Andrews Sisters — 202.48 BPM
  5. "Hang Your Lights" by Jamie Cullum — 202.06 BPM
  6. "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" by Andy Williams — 201.63 BPM
  7. "Santa Tell Me" by Ariana Grande — 191.90 BPM
  8. "Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24" (Instrumental) by Trans-Siberian Orchestra — 186.41 BPM
  9. "Caroling, Caroling" by Nat King Cole — 185.32 BPM
  10. "Christmas Dream" by Perry Como — 184.36 BPM

While it fell outside the top 10, Mariah Carey's mega hit "All I Want for Christmas Is You" is above the focus threshold at 150.27 BPM. The perennial No. 1 song from the "Queen of Christmas" is slower than her version of "O Holy Night," which clocked in at 173.98 BPM.
