GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - AAA says a record 1.65 million Wisconsinites are expecting to travel at least 50 miles from home during this Thanksgiving holiday period.
AAA says between the peak travel times are expected between 11 a.m. Wednesday morning and 8 p.m. Wednesday.
As people are starting to get off work, it’s a good reminder to be prepared before hitting the road, even though the snowfall is slowing a little bit.
Traveling on the road on Thanksgiving Eve has been and will be very busy because of the holiday, but this weather brings in another layer of complexity.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is sharing their recipe for a safe holiday, including traveling with an emergency kit and being patient on the road.
