COLUMBIA — Custody of all dogs rescued from Melissa Sanders' property amid an animal abuse investigation will be given to the Central Missouri Humane Society, Boone County Judge Kayla Jackson-Williams ruled Wednesday.
Owners whose dogs were rescued from Sanders' property, where Magnum Opus German Shepherds was based, must claim their dogs from the Humane Society by Dec. 5, according to the ruling. After that seven-day period, the Humane Society will not have to hold the dogs for their owners to claim.
People going to claim their pets must present proof of ownership.
Jackson-Williams made the ruling at a disposition hearing Wednesday.
