BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Around 14 million Americans have diagnosed COPD, but over a million more live without a diagnosis, according to the CDC.
Donna Marshall was referred to Dr. Brad Vincent, a pulmonary physician at Ochsner, after being diagnosed with COPD and going through pulmonary rehab.
“When I first was diagnosed, I didn’t really know what, I mean, I’ve heard of it. And like I said, I’ve had other people that I know that had emphysema. And I’ve always heard that once you got emphysema, that that’s it,” Marshall said.
But a diagnosis does not mean the end of the road. For Marshall, it opened up doors to improving her life through treatment.
