BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - As families prepare for Thanksgiving, volunteers across Louisiana are restocking Little Free Pantries to ensure no one goes hungry during the holiday.

The pantries serve everyone, whether people lack money for groceries or just need an extra can of corn.

“If you need it, come get it,” said Dillon Harding, a volunteer who restocks pantries in the greater Baton Rouge area.

Ethan Jeffus brought Little Free Pantries to northwest Louisiana three years ago after seeing what his neighbors needed. There are now 27 locations across all major Louisiana cities except Alexandria.

“A project like this is important now, more than ever, because food is a really essential resource, and it’s something that a lot of people are going without. Times are hard,” Jeffus said.
