The rumours around the Edmonton Oilers trading for a new goalie have ramped up this week.

Following speculation that the Oilers have shown interest in St. Louis Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington on Tuesday, a new name has popped up. This time, it’s a goalie who has ties to Edmonton: Tristan Jarry.

NHL Network insider Kevin Weekes took to social media on Wednesday afternoon, announcing that Edmonton has shown significant interest in acquiring the Pittsburgh Penguins’ goaltender.

The 30-year-old spent his junior hockey days playing in the Alberta capital between 2011 and 2015, winning a Memorial Cup with the Edmonton Oil Kings in 2014.
