PHOENIX — St. Mary’s Food Bank on Wednesday completed its third and final day of Thanksgiving Holiday Food Distribution.
Over the past three days, 11,876 families were served at their Phoenix and Surprise locations . Across their statewide network, a record 25,523 families received a turkey, holiday food box and produce bag for Thanksgiving.
Jerry Brown, director of public relations, said it took more than 2,000 volunteers assisting their 250 employees just in the past three days to pull off the massive distribution. Food drives are still rolling in to give St. Mary's a head start on Christmas.
St. Mary’s Food Bank is now closed so crews can spend an extended holiday weekend with their families. St. Mary's will resume normal food distribution on Monday, Dec. 1 at 7:30 am.
