HOLDEN, Maine (WABI) - We are close to turkey day and all of the food and baked goods isn’t only intriguing to you.

Your pet loves the smell of it too and probably wants a bite but you might want to think before you pass that plate.

Last year, the Eastern Maine Emergency Veterinary Clinic saw a lot of Turkey dripping ingestion, turkey bone ingestion and even bread dough toxicity.

All of that, including seasoned foods with onion or garlic can make your pets sick.

The co-medical director of Eastern Maine Emergency Veterinary Clinic said don’t give your pets anything rich in fat.

“If you really want to share a turkey meal go get like a can of turkey dog food or cat food or even just a jar of baby food that’s turkey flavor,” said Dr. Ai Takeuchi.
