SAN ANTONIO — A man was critically injured in a shooting just west of downtown San Antonio on Wednesday after police said an ongoing dispute between two groups escalated.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, officers were called around 2:30 p.m. for reports of a shooting-in-progress at West End Park near Menchaca Street and North Hamilton Avenue.
Investigators said the incident appears to be connected to a fight reported in the same area the day before.
Police said the groups involved returned to the park Wednesday wanting to "fight it out” and gunfire broke out. Witnesses told officers that both parties fired at each other, though investigators are still working to determine who shot first.
