HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - When polar explorer Robert Swan leads his Ice Station Expedition to Antarctica in December, Big Island teenager Eric Gee will be in that group making the journey to the earth’s southernmost continent.

”The whole point of this is advocacy and awareness,” he said.

The 19-year-old firmly believes in conserving the earth’s natural resources, protecting them for future generations.

”If we can get more young people involved, people that are actually living in the now and growing up in the now with new diverse perspectives, I think we’re going to able to deliver more on our promise of creating a better future for the next generation,” he said.
