JEFFERSON COUNTY — Safety concerns are mounting about Highway 30 in Jefferson County after several serious crashes in recent months, including a fatal accident Sunday and another crash Monday night that sent three people to the hospital.

An 18-year-old woman from Byrnes Mill was killed Sunday when the vehicle she was in was struck by an SUV on Highway 30 at Upper Byrnes Mill Road.

Tuesday night’s crash happened on Highway 30 at the intersection with Little Brennan Road in High Ridge. A black SUV rolled several times after colliding in the intersection with another SUV. Investigators determined the driver of the black SUV was at fault for running a red light.
