ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —
A former Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo police officer was taken into custody following a federal investigation into disseminating previous investigation details.
Justin Aguino was accused of using his position to impede a federal grand jury investigation by disclosing information to someone outside of the investigation.
FBI officials said the investigation was being done by Homeland Security Investigations and the Drug Enforcement Administration in February 2020. The arrest announcement was made on Wednesday, Nov. 26.
Aguino was also accused of being confronted by FBI special agents and falsely stating he did not inform anyone outside of the investigation. He was employed with the Pojoaque Police Department during that confrontation in May 2022.
