WASHINGTON —

The congressional delegations from Nebraska and Iowa are reacting to the shooting of two National Guardsmen in Washington, D.C. Wednesday.

Nebraska Sen. Deb Fischer said she was "horrified to hear" of the shooting in a post on X. "As we await more details, please join me in praying for them and thanking local law enforcement for responding swiftly to the scene," writes Sen. Fischer.

Sen. Pete Ricketts echoed Fischer's sentiments, writing he is also praying for the two guardsmen and their families. "Those who did this must be held accountable," wrote Sen. Ricketts.

Nebraska Rep. Adrian Smith said he is also keeping the two wounded in his prayers. This content is imported from Twitter. You may be able to find the same content in another format, or you may be able to find m
